Canon and Discussion / Crew of the Claudia
« on: January 15, 2014, 05:38:52 pm »
Some background crewmembers who might be necessary to interact with but aren't important enough to draw a whole character sheet:

Valeric Tarsus: An experienced, one-eyed turian battery-captain.  He considers turian society to be mired in the past. The entire concept of colonial loyalty had nearly destroyed the hierarchy--for all their flaws, at least they rallied behind one government; besides their indoctrinated fools, of course.  Out of this principle he refuses to paint himself and wears a bareface as a mark of pride.

Zheng Xiaofeng: an older hand who serves as a cook on the Claudia.  Originally from the New Canton colony, but left the colony to work as an Eezo miner shortly before the colony was taken by the collectors. Despite originating from New Canton, he's of Sichuan ancestry--so if you're lucky enough, you might get some Sichuan cold noodles.

Bruna Profeta: Starboard Gun #2's gun commander. She must coordinate between the gunner and battery-captain,  direct the gun's fire, and ensure proper maintenance is carried out.  At twenty-nine years old, she's served on Tobias's crew for nearly seven years.  Surprisingly, she's one of the few gun crewmen not to have prior naval experience.  Instead, she took an extreme aptitude for technical work and managing a  barrage of information to make her gun one of the most effective in the battery.  Serious and capable, she carries out her duties with almost Prussian precision.

Work in progress.

(Apologies for not posting more as of late, but I'll be visiting a friend in Ohio tomorrow and I'll be busy for a week  or so.I do have plans, but with murders and mob violence on the rise on Rouger...I might recommend rearming or another Munich conference.

Flanagan fired as deliberately and carefully as he could, but the mass of bugs was damaging his composure.  He heard the order to go below ground, "Ye'll have  no argument from me...but I got questions once we're below ground."

The Mattock ejected a thermal clip, and Flanagan reloaded as quickly as he could, desperately wish he'd had more practice on the gunnery range.  Shooting in a sterile environment was one thing, out here was a completely different matter.  His hands were shaking and every instinct was telling him to run.  Luckily, this time, he could allow himself to listen to it.

Because Nozz fails at the concept of combined arms.

That's not how these quizzes work Nozz.  Just like the South in 1860, you've divided your candidates and will lose.

History FTW.

^And the army loves them.  More than the Airforce.  Who are getting rid of them.  Again.  And this time the army can't buy them, so it looks like the Airforce'll really ditch 'em this time.

Nozz's quizzes are disingenuous.

This...was unexpected.  Two pairs of eyes watched as Maeve, her pet vorcha, and the assassin left the bar together.  Normally the jellyfish's angry little bitch swaggered around on her lonesome.  Now she had two more people with her.  That could make things difficult.

Carefully, he sent an update to the task manager and finished it with Should I follow? He was sure he could easily follow them--they'd left some obvious plants in the bar to draw attention.  It was a nifty trick and few caught on.  Watching from the shadows, Maeve clearly overlooked him.  Few people suspected a batarian member of the Sukuu.

A reply came back quickly: Negative. Hold fast. Will re-evaluate situation with its new data.  Return home and see to your regular duties.  Do not allow the other shinobi to see you as you leave.

"We are being watched," Flanagan said nodding at the cameras back at the tram, "A good portion of the ruins is covered by the cameras so we could keep an eye on things back inside.  The girls we left behind will still be able to see us for a bit."

I assume it's the lingua franca/a sort of program you can get--want to know what a Cornish person is saying, you can buy a program for extra stuff, but most aliens wouldn't bother with useless languages like that or Spanish

"She's not so bad," Owen said, watching the asari XO walk off, "I'm sure she'll warm up to me--I've got a winning personality.  But you should let her know," He felt the 2000 credit chit that had been left in his pocket--a strange turn of events, but better than a total loss,"if I had enough to buy a slave, I wouldn't need to join up as a deck hand."

Owen looked around appreciatively, "But I suppose you meant the ship, didn't you?  Haven't seen any place quite so nice since I left the Citadel," Owen said truthfully--even on his old smuggler's ship things weren't so nice.  "Sure as hell wasn't like this on the Spartan.  I was honestly just hoping for a sleeping pod I could share with the night shift--not a spot on the floor," He held his hands up, "Just kidding--I realize the crew don't all get the red carpet and suites.  I'll do my job and I'll do it well, whether it be a gun crew or janitor.  I'm grateful for getting me off the streets down there."
