Isani nodded sadly at what Bernuk had gone through, adding an "I'm sorry to hear that.... I hope they discover the mistake they made in wronging you."

"And no, I've never personally met Doctor T'Soni. I had only heard rumors and the like, all in awe and amazement of her mind and talent and drive. I wish I had seen her, but I was in an entirely different faction of the research team at the time... She has done wonders for our culture, even for the... those born from within the same species.

Bernuk shrugged his shoulders in a human gesture, "It was no mistake.  Some asari aren't ready to accept the fact that their 'goddess' was a prothean."

"That's quite alright. I haven't seen them either." South said. "My name is David Clark by the way, nice to meet you."

He shrugged again, "Thinking of trying to work more independently.  When someone pulls the rug out from under you, one is less inclined to trust easily.  But fear not, anyone who judges all members of a race based on actions of a few is a fool.  It contradicts the basic purpose of scientific discovery if you lump all unknowns together without experimentation."

"That is.... understandable." Isani said, then went back to poking at her meal, at a loss for what to say.

"Mind if I join you? Mine has gotten cold."

Walking towards the dispenser, Ilste swipes his omni tool to pay for the coffee. "Seems rather silly to have a machine that takes money in the secret base. I wonder if it's usually more public than this?" Wistfully looking around for signs of activity, he asks her "So what was your initial attraction to the project? Besides the money I mean."
