"Time to take a walk." Max said as he stood in front of Tobias' cell along with 4 shotgun toting pirates.
"Really? So soon? I was actually thinking of redecorating the place and installing a few windows...."
"Let's go..." The brig door slid open. Max's voice was deadpan. He shoved Tobias down the hallway as the four crew members followed, their guns pointed at Tobias' back. A few moments later and they were at the door to the escape pod.
"So I guess you found a planet. Is it nice? Got any beaches?" Tobias spoke as he was shoved into the pod.
"Damned if I know. It's a planet, it has oxygen, it's habitable, and most importantly, its not here." Max retorted.
"I don't suppose I get a care package?"
"I'm giving you your Carnifex with one round. And you know what, here is your stupid sword. I'm half hoping you miss shooting yourself in the head and wind up having to impale yourself on that thing to end your misery."
"Why thank you. Always so touching Max...Would you mind if I had the hat too? For sentimental reasons?"
"You know what, I don't even want your stupid hat." Max tossed the thing into the escape pod. Tobias picked it up off the ground, dusted it off, and placed it back upon his head.
"Well I suppose this is it, gentleman." Tobias began.
"Yes." Max was still emotionless. He was too damn tired.
"Do I get any last requests?" Tobias asked
"No." And before the conversation could continue further, Max slammed the door to the pod shut and launched it into space.
Tobias had a seat as the pod crashed through the atmosphere. He could see the spurts of flames streaking across his small port hole. This wasn't his first ride in an escape pod. And if he had any say, it wouldn't be his last. The flames soon faded, and Tobias took the time to see the lay of the land. He was several tens of thousands of feet in the air, but he could see the mountains and valleys and...a city. Max aimed to strand him with no way off the planet. So did he completely miss an entire city? It wasn't long before the city disappeared behind a mountain. The landing thrusters of the pod fired, and Tobias was launched back into his seat. A moment later he was kicking the door to the pod open and stepping out onto the rocky terrain.
Tobias took a deep breath in "Well at least it doesn't smell like
****." He secured Kara, his M-6 Carnifex, and his sword. He adjusted his hat, brushed off his long brown coat, and made sure his testicles were still intact. "Everything seems to be in order." And with that he took off walking in the direction of the city he saw from the sky.
"One bullet...What a dick."
